How to bet on tennis?

Tennis betting requires a good knowledge of the sport. First of all, make sure you know which match you are betting on. A first round, a final? A Grand Slam, a third rank ATP tournament? What surface is it played on (clay, grass, hard indoor, hard outdoor)? Is there a bigger tournament next week? Where is the tournament played? Is one of the protagonists playing at home? Has one of the players made a long plane trip to this tournament?

Then look at who the two opposing players are. What is their ranking? Have they already played against each other? What is their current form? Are they comfortable on this surface? Odds fluctuate very quickly in tennis and are often much more interesting when they come out, a moment we call “happy hour”. We therefore advise you not to dawdle before making your analysis.

The criteria not to be missed for a good tennis bet are in order of importance:

  • Surface area
  • What is at stake in the meeting
  • Player rankings
  • The result of previous face-to-face meetings
  • The shape of the moment
  • Physical freshness
  • The tournament venue
  • The upcoming calendar

No tennis match is easier to predict than another. All rounds can be analysed and good Value Bet can be found every day. Played every day of the week, tennis will delight those who like to bet on a daily basis.

Some matches are to be avoided: the Davis Cup for example, since the mind plays a more important part in it. Some players are galvanised by the fact that they are playing for their country, while others find themselves totally paralysed. We advise you to abstain from “exhibition” tournaments, corresponding to friendly matches (these bets are rarely offered by French sites), and from “World Championship” type tournaments such as the Hopman Cup, which generally serve as an early-season preparation for the tennis players who play it.

The Top 4 of the most complicated events to bet on:

  • Exhibition” tournaments
  • The Hopman Cup and other “world championships”.
  • The Olympic Games
  • Davis Cup
